The Ephemaera Journal Club is an immersive adventure for anyone to partake in.
Through strange, silly and supernatural stories you get to know the town of Ephemaera and its residents.
These stories are brought to you via:
- The Ephemaera Journal Club journal: a video broadcast, as seen here.
- The Ephemaera Journal (Mail) Club: a snail mail envelope of goodies brought directly to your doorstep – every month.
- The Ephemaera Times: the local newspaper, of which a physical copy is always included in the mail club. Digital arrives two weeks later, right here.
A Short History of Ephemaera
For a long time Ephemaera was under the influence of the Journalists: evil, conniving creatures that fabricate stories and manipulate their audience. Slowly the town turned bleak. Not only in color, but in essence. The Journalists gave rise to a minimalist approach to life, and Ephemaera’s citizens paid the price.
But things were brewing on the other side of the spread. A few of Ephemaera’s residents got together to create beautiful stories rooted in the truth. And so, the Journal Club emerged. Their movement quickly gained favor, and soon the Journalists were driven out of Ephemaera. But they still lurk around the borders…
After this tumultuos period, the municipality and The Journal Club merged.
Because there are none more qualified to run a town than creatures who journal.

About Kay

I’m Kayra. I’m 31 years old and from The Netherlands. I live together with my partner and our furry four legged daughter with sharp teeth, Doofy (the Dog). I am a hoarder of hobbies, and a master of none.
I’ve always been a dreamer. Sadly, at some point in life I started to resent that part of myself. Partly because people were telling me ‘ to get my head out of the clouds’. Partly because I was dealing with, well, my brain. Partly -biggest part- because when you look around, sometimes it’s really hard to find the beauty in life. That’s not because it’s not there, but society leaves less and less space for such things. And small things can get trampled.
I’m actively working towards honing my internal magnifying glass and looking for the weird and whimsical in my everyday life. Or making up my own versions of it. The Ephemaera Journal Club is a world of imagination, brought to you by some of my favorite mediums: writing, video and illustration. I truly hope that I can make someone’s day a little more colorful, and you’ll take on this journey with me.
